Divi Theme

The Ultimate WordPress Theme & Visual Page Builder

Updated on: 13th Oct 2021
Elegant Themes created Divi Theme, a feature-rich multipurpose WordPress theme, in 2013. It has over 760,000 users, and Elegant Themes is well-reviewed on TrustPilot, with over 16,000 5-star ratings. This theme includes a page builder that can be used separately as a plugin, and a recent update added a theme builder. The plugin and theme builder cannot be purchased individually and come with the theme as an all-in-one package.

What sets Divi Theme apart

  • 0
    Integrated theme and page builder

Divi's main differentiator is the fact that it's an integrated package of theme plus page builder, and a couple of other plugins.

The theme is a highly configurable multi-purpose theme (meaning it can be used to build any kind of website) bundled with over 1600 different example layouts.

While the Divi Theme gives you the capability to customise the look and feel of the site in general, the Divi Builder is a page builder plugin that gives you the flexibility to construct visually rich pages.

By purchasing Divi, you will also receive a bundle containing Elegant Theme’s three other products:

    • Extra — a theme especially designed for blogging or publishing content online
    • Bloom — a plugin for creating email opt-in pop-ups
    • Monarch — a plugin that lets viewers share your content on social media

Free plan limitations

Elegant Themes does not offer a free version of Divi. They do however have a no-questions refund policy if returned within 30 days.

Themify Builder

Themify Builder

https://themify.me/builder-pro

Themify is a free WordPress page builder with a pro version and add-ons available for purchase. Both products offer front-end and back-end editing, a drag-and-drop editor, and real-time previews. You can also use either builder on an unlimited number of sites.

This page builder has only 40+ layouts and fewer customization options than Divi, but it includes over 60 animations.

Themify Builder Pro is a theme builder that does not come with a theme — you must purchase one separately. Compared to Divi, Themify’s free page builder can be a good alternative if you want to work with a theme you are using already, while the pro theme builder can help you build a theme from the ground up.

Beaver Builder

Beaver Builder

https://www.wpbeaverbuilder.com/

Beaver Builder is a WordPress page builder plugin that is well-regarded for being easy to learn and use. It provides fewer features and customization options than Divi does, with 28 modules and 50+ templates. It also limits you to front-end editing only.

Like Divi, however, this plugin has a drag-and-drop editor that uses rows and columns. It also allows you to create and save templates and globalize settings across your site.

One aspect of Beaver Builder that Divi doesn’t provide is that it works with clean code, making it easier to edit if you ever deactivate the page builder. This plugin can benefit users who don’t require high levels of customizability and are looking for a straightforward, intuitive page builder.

Features

Because Divi is an integrated theme and page builder, we will describe the features of all of its aspects. Its page builder has too many options to make a comprehensive list. Instead, we will highlight some of the main features.

Divi Theme

The Divi Theme comes with over 1,600 page layouts, which might be the most templates available from any WordPress theme. There are layouts for Landing Pages, About Pages, Blogs, and more. You can also choose from 222 layout packs. These are groups of themed page layouts to help you build a cohesive website that suits your needs. All of these templates are fully customizable, and you can mix and match them as you like.

Divi Builder

The Divi Builder offers front-end and back-end editing and features a visual drag-and-drop editor. It lets you make inline edits and see your changes in real-time. Developers can also customize their pages using CSS. The pages you build are mobile responsive, and you can control how they will look on different devices.

Divi provides you with 46 modules, the elements you can use to build your site. Its global feature lets you save any custom content and reuse it throughout your site. You can also transfer your designs between multiple websites. Some of this page builder’s various customization options include:

  • Hover styling
  • Fonts
  • Undo/Redo
  • Page section dividers
  • Borders
  • 6 Scroll Effects
  • 7 Animations

Using the Divi Leads feature, you can split test elements on your website by creating variations in your site and defining a specific goal. It will then show one version to some viewers and a second one to others, reporting data on which styles have the highest conversion rate.

Divi Theme Builder

Divi’s Theme Builder lets you customize all the aspects of your WordPress site, including headers, footers, 404 pages, and more. You can design the Blog Page of your website and choose what data the viewer sees. Furthermore, you can create templates and apply them either globally or only to specific posts or pages.

Pricing

There are only two pricing models for purchasing Divi:

  1. Yearly Access — $89 per year
  2. Lifetime Access — $249 one-time payment

As mentioned above, both of these plans include all the features Divi offers and access to three other products: Extra, Bloom, and Monarch. You can use all of these tools on an unlimited number of websites. If you have a team of developers, the licenses also allow an unlimited number of users to work with this theme.

Conclusion

Divi Theme has all the features you need to build pages for your website. If you don’t want to build pages from scratch, it provides a wide variety of layouts, but there are also enough customization options to work from the ground up if you so choose. With so many features, however, this theme does have a relatively steep learning curve. You might have to take a while to become familiar with all its different aspects before you can use the page builder to its full extent. If you’re willing to explore its many options, Divi Theme can give you good value for your money — it is particularly affordable if you need to create intricate pages for more than three websites.
