What are the best jQuery / JavaScript dropdown replacements?

Standard dropdowns are a bit dull and difficult to style across browsers, I know there are a few replacements for jQuery, which ones do people use?

Bonus points if it offers tag selection functionality. :)

Chosen is a jQuery plugin that makes long, unwieldy select boxes much more user-friendly.

Chosen is not as actively developed as Select2, and not as full featured, however it's a solid option if you need to improve the look of select boxes, but don't need ajax support for example.

Select2 was inspired by Chosen (another jQuery select box replacement), but offers a lot more in terms of features. Aside from the improved design and user experience, it also offers features such as ajax data sources, and tagging.
